In the White Mountains, business is flourishing once again, after experiencing two years of major downtime with summers, prime tourism seasons, getting impacted by the pandemic.
In the region, issues related to staffing are still damaging several businesses and North Conway, a jumping off point for hiking experts is anticipating for a busy summer with Memorial Day weekend off to a strong start.
Matt Lyman, general manager at Fox Ridge Resort, said that for them, this weekend has been full of activity. Around 136 rooms were fully booked. The summer of 2022 is keen to be yet another great summer. Huge numbers of people are travelling from all over the country to this region.
The Fox Ridge Resort in North Conway explained that they’re all set to welcome a record-breaking summer of 2022, now with more Canadian visitors as the borders have been re-opened.
They’re still handling the ill-impacts of the pandemic, like many other businesses,
Lyman said that staffing has always been a prime concern. That has been the biggest hindrance. However, we’ve made things alright. Extra hours have been given by his management team. Everybody has advanced by one or more steps.
Tom Alberto said down the road at Gorham Ski and Bike, businesses have been stable.
They’re hoping to welcome a flood of summer visitors this time that will help them to bounce back once again.
