With the colder weather knocking at your door, you might soon find yourself dreaming of warmer weather. And what better way to soak up every moment of sunshine than through glamping? With so many locations available to choose from, you won’t be short of choices.

This luxurious travel phenomenon takes all the best parts of camping and combines them with the best features of any hotel stay, meaning you can connect with nature without sacrificing your creature comforts. So pack your favorite camping food and coziest PJs, and take your pick from some of the best glamping spots around the US.

Capitol Reef Resort

Located in Torrey, Utah, this resort gets its name from Capitol Reef National Park, situated right at your doorstep. You will be spoiled with views of red rock mesas and spectacular hiking trails. While this resort does have standard rooms and suites for those who want the entire hotel experience, more adventurous guests can choose from standalone cabins and covered wagons to call home for the night.

The wagons have room for up to 6 guests, with one king bed and two bunk beds. They are arranged around a communal fire pit with red Adirondak chairs placed throughout. A short walk away will give you access to private bathrooms, and each wagon has its own air conditioner.

Ithaca by Firelight Camps

Tucked away in Ithaca, New York, you will find big billowing canvas tents propped up by large tree trunks into a welcoming A-frame shape at Firelight Camps. Inside each tent, you will be treated to hardwood floors adorned with bright and bold area floor rugs, one king or two queen beds, battery-operated lanterns for that warm evening glow, and a writer’s desk and chair.

A private porch with rocking chairs also provides the perfect setting for star gazing. If you are after even more for your stay, four of these tents come with additional goodies, like fans, floor lamps, electric heaters, and electrical outlets, for a higher cost. In addition, each guest is given a continental breakfast during their stay, and a communal lounge has a tea and coffee station.

Other shared areas include firepits, a bathhouse with hot showers and flushing toilets, outdoor setting areas, and lawn games. The entire facility is dog friendly too.

The Trailer Pond

If you are after the best location for your next girls’ getaway or the perfect spot for a bachelor/bachelorette party, The Trailer Pond is everything you want and more. The vintage trailers are located on a 130-acre, organically farmed vineyard in Paso Robles, California. You can book a trailer individually or reserve all five for a group stay.

The trailers are from the 1950s and have been maintained to include originally flashy paint jobs, flooring, and countertops for a more authentic feel. Each is equipped with one double bed so it may feel a little snug. But booth-style dining tables and mini kitchens add a fun twist to this location.

Kitfox

Kitfox may only be 20 minutes away from Sante Fe, but it will feel like a different world once you arrive. Located in the desert setting of Lamy, New Mexico, this newly opened glamping spot is situated on 160 private acres, with 30 miles of hiking trails and a 10,000-acre nature reserve next door.

Guests can choose from large platform tents with king-size beds and a private deck or smaller circular canvas tents. Regardless of your choice, they are equipped with cozy bedding, extra seating, a lantern, a water dispenser, and a cooler. Be aware that this is an off-the-grid experience with limited to no cell service or wifi. But the campsite will provide LED lanterns, USB charging packs, and solar lights.

Under Canvas Mount Rushmore

Imagine, for a moment, waking up in the Black Hills of South Dakota, the smell of juniper and Ponderosa pines fresh in the air. Then, you pull back the flaps of your tent and are met with the astonishing views of Mount Rushmore. Under Canvas in Keystone, South Dakota, will give you just that.

All tent options have king-size beds, private bathrooms with luxurious bath amenities, private decks, and a wood-burning stove. Couples will be better suited in the deluxe and stargazer tents, while the suites fit up to four people, which is ideal for families.

Extra camp features include complementary activities, guided nature walks, and fire pits. Food comes at an additional cost, but everything is homemade and locally sourced.

The Mohicans Treehouse

If you ever had a tree house growing up, head to Knox County, Ohio. The Mohicans have nine unique tree house options to choose from, including a double-story home perched on stilts. The property also includes regular cabins for those who want to keep their feet firmly on the ground.

All the treehouses are equipped with comfortable beds, full bathrooms, air conditioners, and heating. Some also feature outdoor showers, which are best to use during the warmer months. In addition, guests can partake in a number of activities, including ziplining on canopy tours, swimming, hiking, canoeing, and water skiing.
