Summer 2022 marks the first time in a while that Americans will travel since the pandemic. With almost 80% of Americans saying they’ll be traveling this year, we’re curious about the destinations people will be traveling to.
WalletHub recently shared its report on the 2022 Best Summer Travel Destinations. The personal finance website compared 100 metro locations across 43 key indicators of fun-friendliness and budget. They analyzed data such as the amount of COVID-19 cases, cheapest flights, and the number of attractions.
Average flights to popular summer destinations are around $356 and last around 3.5 hours. Los Angeles came in as the most attractive destination on the West Coast while Washington, D.C. ranked as the most attractive destination on the East Coast.
Florida and Texas have at least two of their cities in the top 15 on the list. On the contrary, California and New York have the most unpopular destinations.
