Whether you plan to explore the Marrekesh souks, soak under the Grecian sun, take a camel ride in the Saharan desserts, witness the wildebeest migration in Africa, take a panoramic view of the city in a helicopter or a hot air balloon, snap OOTDs at the unique murals in your favourite art city, or eat your heart out in the night markets; some travel items always accompany us on our trips. Be it a multipurpose scarf to shield you from the cold blast of mountain air, a pair of sunglasses to block the harmful UV rays, sturdy boots to bring you everywhere, a lifesaving jacket to keep you warm, or a handy day bag to carry your daily essentials, one thing is for sure – we seek functional, comfortable and good-looking items (hey who doesn’t want to look our best for the gram?) – that can take us from day to night. These shoes are made for walking
One of the most crucial travel essentials is protection for your feet. Sure there are vehicles to bring you everywhere, camels and even horses to ride on, but having a comfortable and well-made pair of shoes may be one of THE best investments for your travels. Imagine limping as you take in the amazing architecture/hills/sunrise/streets (insert your adventures) – enough said!
Travel tip: Break in your new shoes before your trip!

Jackets – more than an accessory
It’s not fun trying to explore your favourite destination, the one on your screensaver for the past two years of the pandemic, yet shivering as you force yourself to brave on. Be prepared for any weather that may come.
Travel tip: Do your due research, check the weather ahead and always prep for freak weather.

Travel day bags for your daily needs
Travel is fun but not so great when you are the target of petty theft or, worse, mugging. So while we take a moment to express our gratitude for the safety we enjoy in Singapore, we need to understand that being extra mindful of our surroundings and heightening our awareness overseas are keys to having a wonderful holiday.
Travel tip: Ensure your day bag is always tucked under your arm, or better yet, get the oh-so-trendy crossbody bag to keep your valuables in plain sight if you haven’t already.

The magic of multipurpose scarves
Scarves, beautiful scarves – how do I love thee? I cannot sing enough praises of this piece of fabric I bring along to ALL my travels. No matter your destination country and its weather, you won’t go wrong by adding this item to your travel packing list. It doesn’t take up much space in your luggage, doubles up as a picnic mat, covers up your bare shoulders in modest countries, acts as a makeshift pillow on long-haul trips, and protects your neck when faced with that sudden blast of air-conditioning.
Travel tip: Experiment with different looks with just one scarf. Check out free videos on YouTube on the different ways to wear your scarves.

Sunglasses – Wrinkles begone!
The sun’s rays are no joke for both hot climates and cold destinations. Sunlight in your eyes can impede your drive during your road trip as with the blinding reflection of the sun’s rays on snow. Not to mention how all that squinting can bring about unwanted wrinkles.
Travel tip: Get a pair of shades that offer 100 per cent UV ray protection. Look for shades with a UV400 label that protects against UVA and UVB rays.
