Although Nigeria is not known for its shores, it is blessed with an abundance of it. There are lots of breathtaking stretches of tourist attractions that can be enjoyed at any time of the year with your family, especially this summer period (although June to August can be a little wet).
If you are one who loves to travel, there are several travel destinations in the country and you are sure to find many places of interest to visit. Badagry
Badagry, which is also spelledBadagri, is a coastal town and Local Government Area (LGA) in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is quite close to the city of Lagos and it is located on the north bank of Porto Novo Creek, an inland waterway that connects Lagos to Benin. During the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, the town was a middleman between European traders on the coast and traders from the hinterland.
Badagry is one of the best places to travel with your family during this period when the children are on vacation. It is also a great tourist destination because it is known for its historical background which includes the Badagry Slave Museum, Black History Museum, Gberefu Island also known as Point of No Return, Badagry Building which is the first story building in Nigeria, Agia Tree Monument where Christmas was first celebrated in Nigeria, and The Royal Palace of Mobee.
Other attractions include Coconut Beach, which is surrounded by coconut trees, local appetising dishes alongside a chance to learn about the history of Nigeria.

Cross River State
Cross River is a state in the South South geopolitical zone of Nigeria and is the nineteenth largest in area among the 36 states of Nigeria. The state is mostly divided between the Guinean forest and the Cross–Sanaga–Bioko coastal forests in the majority of the interior of the state.
Cross River gets revenue from tourists’ attraction around the wildlife reserves such as Cross River National Park, Ikom Monoliths sites, Obudu Mountain Resort and the famous Calabar festival that is held during Christmas. Lagos State
Lagos which is Portuguese for “lakes” is the largest city in Nigeria and the second most populous city in Africa. The city of excellence is one of the most visited cities in Nigeria due to the fact that it is the headquarters of almost all the industries in Nigeria. Ekiti State
Ekiti State is located in the South-West geopolitical zone of Nigeria; it is one of the six major Yoruba states in Nigeria and is well known for its hills and gift of nature. Among the state’s nature are false acraeas, mona monkey, forest buffalo and grey parrot populations, along with one of the last remaining Nigeria-Cameroon chimpanzee populations with a troop of about 20 chimpanzees in the heavily threatened Ise Forest Reserve.
A variety of tourist attractions thrive in the state, namely Ikogosi Warm Springs, Fajuyi Memorial Park, Osun River Source, Esa Cave, Orole Hills, Erin Ayonigba Sacred Fish River, and ArintaWaterFalls.

Niger State
The name Niger was derived from River Niger, the third longest river in Africa. It is one of the richest tourist locations in Nigeria and is also the largest state in the country. The State houses the three major hydro-electric power stations in Nigeria, namely: Kainji, Jebba, and Shiroro stations.
