Hollywood – Iconic District Of The Film Industry

Hollywood really needs no introduction, as the district is synonymous with film, entertainment, stars, and glamour. There is probably no other place that has spawned as many successful films and series as Hollywood. This alone makes Hollywood one of the most popular destinations in the USA. Hollywood is a district of Los Angeles on the west coast of the US, whose most famous landmarks are the Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Sign.

The Hollywood Boulevard

Most trips to Hollywood start on Hollywood Boulevard. This is the district’s main street, where many of Hollywood’s focal points can be found. You can spend days on this street, with its world-famous cinemas and theatres, such as the TCL Chinese Theatre, the El Capitan Theatre, or the Dolby Theatre. This is where the annual Academy Awards are presented.

The street is also home to the Walk of Fame, on which many stars are immortalized, as well as numerous museums, such as Madame Tussaud’s. The street is filled with an endless number of shops and eateries with both international and local brands. In addition, the film industry holds numerous events here and the public can also enjoy delicious entertainment during Halloween and LA Pride.

Hollywood Film Studios

Of course, you cannot travel to Hollywood without visiting one or more movie studios. The most famous are probably Warner Bros Studios, Universal Studios, and Paramount Studios. Other Highlights In LA

You can certainly spend a few weeks in Hollywood itself before you have seen it all and internalized the Hollywood lifestyle. Other popular sights in Hollywood proper include the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory, Sunset Plaza, and Mulholland Drive. Nearby, however, in other parts of LA, there are all sorts of other sights to explore. Those traveling to the USA with an ESTA are allowed to stay in the country for 90 days, giving them plenty of time to visit other parts of LA and the United States.

One of the most beautiful spots in LA is the end of historic Route 66 at the Santa Monica Pier. The pier is home to an amusement park that also hosts numerous events. Venice Beach around the pier is a great place to walk, sunbathe or have fun in the water. Rodeo Drive in Beverly is also worth a visit. Here you will find numerous luxury shops where many of Hollywood’s stars shop.

USA Entry Regulations

Traveling to the US should be well-prepared. Indeed, an ESTA or Visa is required to enter the country. Travelers from the UK and the EU are advised to use the ESTA, as it is much easier to apply for than the US visa. You can easily fill out the ESTA form online. The ESTA is valid for a stay of up to 90 days in the US and can be used multiple times within 2 years. Travellers should note that children also need their own ESTA and require a normal passport. Children’s passports cannot be used to enter the US.
