The Uttarakhand state government will soon be connecting 17 tourist destinations in the Kumaon region of the hill state under the Manaskhand circuit over the next five years. As per the reports, the places to be connected as part of the project will include Kainchi Dham, Jageshwar temple, Mukteshwar, Golu Devta temple, and Purnagiri temple.

Referring to this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has stated that they have made elaborate plans to boost the tourism sector in Kumaon. He added that the Kumaon range has a lot of potential and a number of scenic locations and places of religious importance. As such, better road connectivity would be extended to the said locations.

He further added that as a pilot project, they will start by developing a parking area near Kainchi Dham, followed by other locations.

The CM also added that devotees from the country and abroad come to the Kainchi Dham of Baba Neem Karoli, and therefore, developing this circuit will facilitate tourists to visit several locations in a single visit.

Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj stated that the department has identified several locations in the six districts of Kumaon range in a bid to promote tourism.

Earlier, under
the 13 Districts, 13 New Tourist Destinations scheme, the government identified Munisyari in Pithoragarh district, Kausani in Bageshwar, Katarmal in Almora, and Muketeshwar in Nainital, Lohaghat in Champawat and Parag Farm of Udham Singh Nagar.
